The Garden Wrap-Up - Our first ever Children’s Garden was a HUGE success. We were able to reach so many people within our community and beyond through the tremendous efforts of so many volunteers. Our volunteers were the key to our success and this group became a family who took pride in the garden, and relished in the abundance of vegetables which reached so many people.
The garden produced vegetables which were shared with our Homebound Meals Program for 2 of their meal preparations serving numerous households within our community. Our garden also shared veggies and herbs with 3 food pantries which satisfied not only our local area, but other neighboring communities as well. In all, we donated approximately 104 pounds of vegetables and herbs to be shared with our neighboring communities.
I would like to really express my gratitude to Fr. Sullivan and Mrs. Stokes for allowing me to fulfill our goal of the first St. Christina Children’s Garden. I appreciate their support and trust in our plans which proved to be successful. SEE YOU NEXT YEAR!!!
