Athletics Program - Soccer
 

Soccer is available for K through 8 Grades. There are two seasons: Fall and Spring. The Fall Season starts after Labor Day and runs till the end of October. The Fall League for K through 2nd Grade and 5th through 8th Grades, play all games at Saint Walters School (118th and Bell). The 3rd and 4th Grades play in the Holy Redeemer League, which consists of traveling to different fields. Teams are Coed in Fall, and in the Spring Teams are Coed, unless there is enough players to have an all Boys or all Girls team. The Spring Season starts in March and runs until the first week of June. The Spring League is a travel league. Soccer pictures are taken during the Fall Season.

Check the weather radar for incoming storms. Game cancellations may occur just before game time. So please, show up at your game if the website does not indicate the game is canceled, or if your coach has not called.

If the weather is questionable, please check the site, any cancellations will be posted by 3:30 pm. Saint Walter's League will inform the school coordinator of any cancellations prior to 3:30 pm. All coaches will be notified as soon as possible. Some schools may not contact the coordinator, if in doubt call the coach. Remember all games will be played in the rain.

  • The 7th & 8th Grade moves on to the 2nd round of the playoffs and will face St Gerald on Thursday, May 20th 6:30 am at St Christina Field. The 5th & 6th Grade Team coached by John Sutherland will play a quarter final game on Thursday, May 20th at 5:15 at St Christina Field.
     
  • The Kg team, coached by Jenn Cotter tied their last game 0-0 against St. Catherine. They did a great job.
     
  • On Friday, May 14th, 1st & 2nd Grade Team, coached by Juan Rios lost 2 - 1 vs St. Catherine. Michael Loughney scored the lone goal. On Wednesday evening, May 5th, Martin, Michael, and Patrick Loughney, each scored a goal in a 3-0 victory over Our Lady of the Woods. The game was played with eight players on the field for St. Christina with no substitutions. The goals were Patrick's first and Michael and Martin's second of the season. The match will be remembered for the rare occurrence, "The Loughney Triplet's Hat Trick." Ethan Dougherty and Matthew Rios contributed as goal keepers.
     
  • On Thursday, May 13th, the 5th & 6th Grade Team coached by Frank Zoller defeated St Germaine 7 - 2. Later that night the 7th & 8th Grade beat St Catherines 3 - 1. Goals were scored by Kaithlyn Maloney, Jessica Peyronet and Emily Rappold.
     
  • On Wednesday, May 12th, the 7th & 8th Grade Team beat St John Fisher 5 - 0. Goals were scored by: Sean Rio, Zack Johnson, Kevin Bilek and 2 by Caithlyn Leigh.
     
  • St Christina 5th & 6th Grade Team, coached by John Sutherland finished in 1st Place during the regular season going 9 - 1. The team coached by Frank Zoller finished in 3rd, going 8 - 2. Way to go Teams! The playoffs start the week of May 10th. Come out an cheer the teams on as they march their way to the championship.
     
  • On Wednesday, May 5th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls ended their season with a 1 - 0 win over St Mikes. The lone goal was scored by Emily Rappold. The 7th & 8th Grade Girls finished the regular season going 5 - 3 - 2. Congratulations a tremendous season. The 7th & 8th Grade Team finished the season 7 - 3. They await the seeding for the playoffs.
     
  • On Tuesday, May 4th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls lost to St Als 4 - 0. Later that night they rebounded with the Coed Team winning 7 - 0. The goals were scored by 7 different players: John O'Donghue started it. Courtney Trueba followed it up with a deflection off a great corner. The other goals were scored by Kevin Boliek, Valerie Ponce, Zack Johnson, Sean Rio and Anthony DeAvila.
      
  • The 2010 St Christina Homecoming started off on a great note. Father Sullivan led the group in a short prayer before the parade left school. The weather was just perfect for a Saturday. The day started out with 3 games.
     
    The Kindergarten Team, coached by Jen Cotter, lost 6-2 but they played really hard. They had lots of shots on goal but Q of M did a great job stopping them. The two goals were scored by Kevin Benak and Ethan Chausse. The Kindergarten Team coached by Luis Amaya beat Our Lady of the Woods.
    The outcome from the 1st and 2nd Grade Team went unreported.
    The 1st & 2nd Grade Team, coached by Juan Rios, lost to Q of M 4 -1.
    Martin Loughney scored the lone goal.
    The 1st & 2nd Grade Team coached by Gina Wagner beat Our Lady of the Woods.
    The 1st & 2nd Grade Team, coached by John Woods beat Q of M 3 - 0.
    The 3rd & 4th Grade Team, coached by Brian Larkin lost 2 -1 to Q of M.
    The lone goal was scored by Josh Rios.
    The other 3rd & 4th Grade Team, coached by Marty Quinn beat Q of M 4 - 0.
    Scoring goals were Nick Quinn, Jim Porter, Trey Affolter and Grace Hynes.
    The 5th & 6th Grade Team, coached by Frank Zoller beat St Catherine 5 - 0.
    The 5th & 6th Grade Team coached by John Sutherland beat Q of M 8 - 0.
    The 7th & 8th Grade Team, coached by Joe Kezon beat Q of M 2 - 1.
    The goals were scored by Alyse Togher and Caithlynn Leigh.
     
    Thanks to all those who help out decorating the fields, working the kitchen and cleaning up.
      
  • On Friday, April 30th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls lost 2 - 0 vs Incarnation. The team played hard with only 11.
     
  • On Wednesday, April 28th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls team lost 4 -2 vs St Mikes. The goals were scored by Caithlyn Leigh and Claire Collevy.
     
  • On Tuesday, April 27th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls beat St Als 2 - 0. Goals were scored by Emily Rappold. The 7th & 8th Grade COED lost 4 -1 vs St Alberts. The lone goal was scored by Alyse Togher.
     
  • On Friday, April 23rd, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls Team tied Our Lady of the Woods 3 - 3. Goals were scored by Rose Bingham, Kaithlyn Maloney and Emily Rappold.
     
  • On Wednesday, April 21st, the 7th & 8th Grade COED Team won 6 - 0 vs St Germaine. Goals were scored by Bridget Flaherty, John O'Donoghue, Jim Turney, Joe Kezon and Matt Pikowski scored twice.
     
  • On Tuesday, April 20th, the 7th & 8th Grade COED team won 3 - 1 vs St Bernadette. Goals were scored by Matt Pikowski and 2 by Emily Rappold.
     
  • On Monday, April 19th, St Christina 1st & 2nd Grade team, coached by Mark Grobarcik lost to St Geralds (Team 3) 2 - 1. The lone goal was scored by John Hosty.
     
  • During the 3 day span the teams have been supported by tremendous defense lead by Kristian Roszak, Kailey Landgren and Anthony DeAvila.
     
  • On Saturday, April 17th, the 7th & 8th Grade Coed Team beat St Symphrosa 3 - 0. Scoring two goals was Emily Rappold with a goal by Caithlyn Leigh.
     
  • On Friday, April 16th, not to be out done by the Girls Team, the Coed Team beat Most Holy Redeemer 2 1 -0. Emily Rappold score the lone goal to add to her total for the night.
     
  • On Friday, April 16th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls Team beat Incarnation 4 - 2. Emily Rappold had a hat trick and Claire Collevy scored as well.
     
  • On Thursday, April 15th, the 7th & 8th Grade Coed Team beat St Barnabas 2 3 - 0. Goals were scored by Matt Pikowski, Jim Turney and Emily Rappold.
     
  • On Tuesday, March 30th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls defeated St Mikes 2 4 - 0. Goals were scored by Sydney Bonnett, Caithlyn Leigh, Emily Rappold and Rose Bingham. The team had outstanding defensive effort, thanks to Kristian Roszak, Kailey Landgren, Shey Koch and Casey Zielinski.
     
  • On Monday, March 29th, the 7th & 8th Grade Girls team tied St Alexanders Team 1 3 - 3. Goals were scored by Jessica Peyronet, Caitlyn Leigh and Bridget Flaherty.
